MuleSoft has released a new version of Anypoint Studio. What's new for the Studio and the Platform?
MuleSoft has released a new version of Anypoint Studio, the Eclipse-based integration development environment well known to anyone who is designing and testing Mule applications. The environment is now supported by/built on Eclipse 4.18 and java 11. One novelty among the few is the enhanced Anypoint Studo experience in macOS.
Dark Mode
A number of new features is introduced in Anypoint Studio 7.9. For a start, there is the long-awaited Dark Mode. One must admit it was about time to give developers the eye strain reducing option. The Dark Theme can be turned on by clicking the anchor-like Switch to Dark Theme icon in the top toolbar.
Dataweave editor
Writing Datawave does not always look pretty. In the new Anypoint Studio 7.9 release, a new option is added to improve upon the coding experience. The part showing the structure of the input data on the left side of the Dataweave editor can now be removed from the Source Only View option.
However small this improvement might seem, it does make for a better visual experience.
DataGraph
There are also a few newly introduced features to Anypoint Platform. Anypoint DataGraph is one of them. It supports unifying APIs into a single schema through linking and merging. As its end goal, DataGraph enables developers to consume and manage data from multiple APIs using a single query. API troubleshooting and performance monitoring display response times and logs within a single interface.
DataWeave Playground
If you want to experiment with DataWeave syntax and transformations outside of Anypoint Studio, you should try DataWeave Playgorund, a familiar and intuitive IDE available online.

Anypoint Studio speed issues
Speed issues on older and even average computers and sometimes a very strange behavior, when drag and dropping connectors on the flow, has not been resolved yet. These problems are especially noticeable on Windows and Linux platforms and have been there for years. We hope that the future releases will bring more polishing, even if it means less features.
